The data is processed directly on the servers of the service. Information about such steps of users (e.g. the duration, sequence and URL of visits and page views, as well as information about the device used, operating system, browser and settings the approximate location) are also transmitted there, with the registration for the newsletter you agree to this.

Analysis Tools / Digital Marketing

We use modern, advanced analysis methods and tools to understand user behavior on our website. This information helps us to continually develop our offerings and provide targeted, relevant services and information. For this purpose, we only use data that is anonymised and does not allow any conclusion to be drawn about the identity of the user.

In the following, we will introduce you to the analysis services and technologies that we use for such purposes. We also show you how you can prevent these services from evaluating your usage behaviour on our website.

Our website uses tools and functions of other providers which serve to record and statistically process data on the use of the website by users. This information allows us to offer users of other services on the Internet (such as Google or Facebook) targeted, relevant information and advertising. These may include Universal Analytics, AdWords and Click / DoubleClick Floodlight as well as Dynamic Remarketing from Google, Facebook Custom Audiences and Facebook Connect, Twitter Advertising, Optimizely and Mailchimp.

These services use cookies, tags and tracking pixels for the respective purposes. Cookies are small pieces of code that are loaded onto the user's device and allow, for example, identification, user settings on a website, management of a session or log-in. They also allow the recording and evaluation of visits and interactions of the user in various web services and the transmission of this data to the web server. Tags are short pieces of code that are embedded in websites and mobile applications to report to a server whether a user has performed a certain action (for example, clicking a button). Pixel tags (or web beacons) are small image files embedded in websites or e-mails and allow conclusions to be drawn about their call.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is an analysis tool that statistically prepares data on the use of our website by users. It sends information about page views and steps taken by users (e.g. the duration, sequence and URL of visits and page views, the page from which the user came, as well as information about the device used, operating system, browser and settings and the approximate location) to Google's servers. It uses cookies and similar means, such as tracking pixels, to recognize users and to associate them with different steps and visits across different devices and sessions, using anonymous features such as random identification numbers. No personal data is transmitted to Google; IP addresses that are used for spatial allocation are "masked" (shortened by certain numbers) in advance. Google explains further details in its privacy policy. You can deactivate Google Analytics for your browser using an add-on.

Google Adwords Conversion and Google Double-click Floodlight

Google AdWords Conversions and Google DoubleClick Floodlight allow us to determine how clicks on ads or information on Google platforms effectively lead to transactions and similar actions by users with us. These features use temporary cookies from Google and do not process individual user information. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, or by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser.

Facebook Custom Audiences

Facebook Custom Audiences is used by us to compile groups and lists of users from existing data records (e.g. our newsletter subscribers) according to certain criteria, in order to be able to offer them information and advertising on Facebook services that are fair to their interests and preferences. Before transmission to Facebook, this data is irreversibly encrypted on our computers to so-called hash values (encrypted numerical values), which Facebook uses to compare with its user bases. You can reject this form of advertising by adjusting your browser settings, which you can do on the Digital Advertising Alliance's selection page.

Facebook Lookalike Audiences

Facebook Lookalike Audiences are used by us to compile groups and lists of users from existing data records (e.g. our newsletter subscribers) according to certain criteria in order to be able to offer relevant information to users with similar interests and preferences on the services of Facebook. The data is irreversibly encrypted on our computers to so-called hash values (encrypted numerical values) before being transmitted to Facebook. You can reject this form of advertising by adjusting your browser settings, which you can do on the Digital Advertising Alliance's selection page.

Facebook Connect

Facebook Connect is a feature of Facebook that allows Facebook users to use their Facebook identity to log in to other websites, apps and services. In doing so, this other service gains access to certain preferences stored in Facebook and social and links on which it can base its own offers. This follows the user's Facebook settings. More details can be found in the Facebook explanations. Facebook may use data about the steps taken by users on such other services to recognize visitors to our website on its services in order to be able to offer for the interests and preferences of the user. You can opt-out of this form of advertising by changing your browser settings, which you can do on the Digital Advertising Alliance's selection page.
